Rot in the chassis is what finishes most of these vehicles, and patching a rotten rail is usually more expensive than replacing it once. This is a new item, jig built to the original dimensions and hot dip galvanised inside and out so the job does not come back around in ten years.
- Fitment: Land Rover Series III 88 inch 1971 to 1985
- Jig built to the original factory dimensions, so mounting points line up without persuasion
- Hot dip galvanised to BS EN ISO 1461, inside and out, roughly 85 microns
- All brackets, outriggers and captive nuts fitted and galvanised in place
- Drain holes correctly placed so the sections do not hold water
- Supplied bare. Transfer or renew your brake and fuel lines, mounts and bushes on rebuild
- Ten year warranty against perforation from rust
Practical note. This is a full strip and rebuild, not an afternoon job. Photograph everything before you take the body off, bag and label the fixings by area, and budget for new brake pipes, fuel lines and body mounts while access is good. Doing those later means taking it apart twice.
