A hood is a wearing part and a leaking one will quietly destroy the interior underneath it. These are cut from patterns taken off original hoods, with the seams in the original positions so the tension comes out right across the frame.

Fitting a hood properly is a warm day job and it cannot be rushed. Fit it on a day over 18 degrees, or warm the fabric first, and leave it stretched over the frame in the sun for a few hours before final tacking. A hood fitted cold will be creased and slack for the rest of its life.
